Jennifer M. Manis

Jennifer Manis is a graduate of Duke University Divinity School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill – School of Social Work. Recently approved to serve as a diaconal minister by the North Carolina Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Jennifer seeks to minister at the intersection of church and community, empowering her neighbors to live fully into the Holy One’s redemptive grace. Her professional interests include poverty alleviation, advocacy, worship, and education. Working with young children reveals to her the small joys of life and fills her days with laughter and creativity.

Jennifer shares a home with her life-partner Charles. Together they enjoy visiting friends near and far, cooking, singing, and exploring God’s creation. A native Floridian, Jennifer feels most at home near the ocean and in the sunshine. She enjoys the adventure of getting lost in a good book and the stillness of the forest in the afternoon.
