Sing the Right Song
Psalm 98:1-3
98:1 O sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things. His right hand and his holy arm have gotten him victory.  The LORD has made known his victory; he has revealed his vindication in the sight of the nations.  He has remembered his steadfast love and faithfulness to the house of Israel.  All the ends of the earth have seen the victory of our God.

When was the last time you sensed God's blessings in your life?  Have you witnessed God move something in your life which seemed unmovable?  Watch and listen to this song by Kurt Carr.

How does the testimony of this song relate to your own experience with God?

People of faith, if God has shown up in your life, IT IS TIME TO SING A NEW SONG! If God has healed your body, IT IS TIME TO SING A NEW SONG! If God has blessed you financially, IT IS TIME TO SING A NEW SONG! If God woke you up this morning, IT IS TIME TO SING A NEW SONG! If God changed you, IT IS TIME TO SING A NEW SONG!
God does something new and different each day, but sometimes we sing an old song, that does not apply. Think about the ways we celebrate when our favorite sports team wins against their opponent. We yell, high five, fist bump, jump up and down, enjoying the victory. In a similar fashion, the psalmist celebrates the triumph of God’s power and holiness.  The psalmist heralds the final victory of Christ over sin and death. Unlike team sports, no rematch is required.  This victory is for an eternity.
Prayer
Dear Lord, place a new song in our hearts. Even in the midst of adversity, may we be strengthened by sing faithful praises to you.  You are our Redeemer and Sustainer.  Thank you for your love and faithfulness towards us, even when we don't deserve it.  Hallelujah.  Hallelujah.  Amen.

The Reverend Betty A. Brown
